Soprano Claudia Rohrbach studied at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and received a scholarship from the German Stage Association. After her engagement at the Lucerne Theater, the soprano joined the Cologne Opera ensemble in 1998, where she has enjoyed great success ever since.

She has made guest appearances at the State Theater in Hanover, the State Theater in Wiesbaden, and the Bregenz Festival, among others. She has worked with conductors Markus Stenz, Claus Peter Flor, and Friedrich Haider, as well as directors Christof Loy, Günter Krämer, Helmuth Lohner, Benjamin Schad, Ingo Kerkhof, Carlus Padrissa, and Dietrich W. Hilsdorf. She has made repeated guest appearances at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (Gretel in “Hänsel and Gretel,” Ännchen in “Der Freischütz”). At the Cologne Opera, the winner of the Offenbach Prize has appeared as the Flower Maiden in “Parsifal,” Zerlina in “Don Giovanni,” in the title role of George Frideric Handel’s “Alcina,” as the Governess in Benjamin Britten's “The Turn of the Screw,” and as Agathe in “Der Freischütz.” She has appeared as Konstanze, Susanna, Despina, and Pamina, and as the First Lady in Mozart's operas “Die Entführung aus dem Serail,” “Le nozze di Figaro,” “Così fan tutte,” and “Die Zauberflöte.”

Her repertoire also reflects contemporary works, as evidenced by her role as Sophie Scholl in Udo Zimmermann's “Weiße Rose” and her participation in the German premiere of Johannes Maria Staud's “Die Antilope.”

„In recent seasons, Claudia Rohrbach has appeared as Great-Grandmother Gisse in Christian von Götz’s "Mazeltov, Rachel’e", the First Lady in "Die Zauberflöte", Micaëla in "Carmen", Berta in "Il barbiere di Siviglia", Mrs Pogge in "Pünktchen und Anton", Ghita in "Der Zwerg", Despina in "Così fan tutte", Valencienne in "Die lustige Witwe", the Overseer in "Elektra", Anna in "Nabucco", Princess Petra in "Eine Frau von Format", Papagena/First Lady in "Die Zauberflöte für Jung und Alt", Marcellina in "Le nozze di Figaro", and Ortlinde in "Die Walküre".

In the 26/27 season, she will appear at the Opera House as Marianne Leitmetzerin in "Der Rosenkavalier", Ludmila in "Die verkaufte Braut", the First Lady in "Die Zauberflöte", and Despina in "Così fan tutte".
