Inviting generations – connecting generations

The team at Oper.Stadt.Schule welcomes everyone to experience opera, engage with it through the senses, and help shape it. We want to share our passion for opera with you!

As the music theatre education and opera outreach department of Oper Köln, we create programmes for children, young people, adults, families, as well as nurseries, schools, and other educational institutions.

We develop projects that invite participants to explore opera productions, music, and theatrical performance, to take part, and to become creative themselves. We aim to facilitate encounters with works of art and with people, inspiring profound, moving, and enjoyable engagement with the art form of opera and everything that surrounds it.

Opera inspires! Whether through breathtaking orchestral sounds, subtle nuances, the power of the human voice, great philosophical questions, moral conflicts, or the striking visual worlds of stage and costume design, opera touches us on many levels.

We look forward to creating culture together with you—both in our opera house and throughout the city, wherever we can bring opera to life.
