Wesley Harrison
Vita
Der Tenor Wesley Harrison absolvierte sein Bachelorstudium in Kanada an der Wilfrid Laurier University und schloss seinen Master an der McGill University 2022 erfolgreich ab.
Bereits während seines Studiums war er an der Opera Laurier als Le Doyen in „Cendrillon“ sowie an der Opera McGill als Valcour in „L´amant anonyme“ und Don Ottavio in „Don Giovanni“ zu hören.
2019 erhielt er außerdem den 1. Preis bei der „Wilfrid Laurier University Concerto Competition“ und der „NATS Ontario Vocal Competition“ sowie die Auszeichnung als „Most Promising Singer“. 2024 gewann er die „Laffont Competition“.
Von 2023 bis 2025 war Wesley Harrison Teil der Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studios, wo er u.a. in „Fidelio“, „La Bohème“, „Das schlaue Füchslein“, „Don Pasquale“, „Nabucco“ und „La reine-garçon“ auftrat. 2024 sang er die Rolle des Conte Almaviva in „Il barbiere di Siviglia“ beim Brott Music Festival.
Seit der Spielzeit 2025.26 ist er Teil des Internationalen Opernstudios der Oper Köln. Hier wird er u.a. in „Die Zauberflöte“ als erster Geharnischter, in „Manon Lescaut“ als Tanzlehrer, in „Tancredi“ als Roggiero, in „Der Wunschpunsch“ als Kater Maurizio, in „Freikugeln – der Freischütz in fünf Dimensionen“ als Max, in „Ernani“ als Don Riccardo und als Max in „Max und Moritz“ zu erleben sein.
