Young Turkish bass Ferhat Baday won first prize at the 2022 Young Soloists Competition in İzmir, Turkey. After completing his Bachelor's degree at the State Conservatory of Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir, he joined the Opera Studio of the Komische Oper Berlin, where during the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons he appeared in roles including Zaretsky in "Eugene Onegin", the Second Armoured Man in "Die Zauberflöte", the Tutor in Jacques Offenbach's "Les Brigands", Ville Vätte in "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson", Doëg in "Saul", the First Gravedigger in Ambroise Thomas' "Hamlet", and the Herald and Farfarello in "The Love for Three Oranges".

Ferhat Baday has been a member of the International Opera Studio at Cologne Opera since the 25/26 season. There he has appeared as the Second Armoured Man in "Die Zauberflöte", Maledictus Made in "Der Wunschpunsch", Kaspar in "Freikugeln", Jago in "Ernani", and in the mobile children's opera "Max und Moritz".

In the 26/27 season, he will appear at the reopened Cologne Opera House at Offenbachplatz as Wilhelm in Jacques Offenbach's "The Tales of Hoffmann", again as the Second Armoured Man, Harry / Lady Boxington in Frederick Loewe's "My Fair Lady", and Littore / Famigliare III in "The Coronation of Poppea". At Kinderoper Köln, he will also perform the roles of Old King Detlef in "Der König verschenkt was" and the Bonze in Stravinsky's "The Nightingale".
