Der österreichische Bariton Tobias Lusser sammelte bereits früh erste musikalische Erfahrungen auf dem Cello und dem Klavier und studierte Orgel am Konservatorium für Kirchenmusik St. Pölten, wo er auch seinen ersten Gesangsunterricht erhielt. Seit 2020 studiert er an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München bei Prof. Lars Woldt und absolvierte Meisterkurse bei u.a. Petra Lang, Rudolf Piernay und privat durch Helmut Deutsch.
2022.23 gab er sein erfolgreiches Debüt am Staatstheater Karlsruhe als Papageno in „Die Zauberflöte“, auch 2023.24 war er in dieser Partie in Karlsruhe zu hören, weiterhin als Conte in „Le nozze di Figaro“ an der Kammeroper München.
2024.25 debütierte er an der Vlaamse Opera in Antwerpen und Gent in „L‘enfant et les sortiléges“, es folgten „Wozzeck“, Luigi Nonos „Intolleranza“ sowie konzertante Aufführungen von Edvard Griegs „Peer Gynt“. Weiterhin gab er im Juli 2025 sein erfolgreiches Debüt als Papageno am Saarländischen Staatstheater Saarbrücken.
2025.26 gibt er sein Debüt an der Oper Köln als Belzebub Irrwitzer in der Neuproduktion von Elisabeth Naskes „Der Wunschpunsch“.
Er ist Preisträger des internationalen Carl-Orff-Gesangswettbewerbs, des Fritz-Wunderlich-Förderpreises der Fritz-Wunderlich-Musikgesellschaft Kusel, sowie des Bundeswettbewerbs „Prima la Musica“ in der Kategorie „Solo Gesang“. Seit 2023 ist er Stipendiat bei Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now München e.V., sowie Stipendiat des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes München. Als Konzertsolist arbeitete er u.a. mit den Münchener Symphonikern, den Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonikern und dem L‘Orfeo Barockorchester, u.a. „Carmina Burana“ (Carl Orff), „Die Schöpfung“ (Joseph Haydn), „Das Requiem“ (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), „Messa di Gloria“ (Giacomo Puccini) und „Erlkönigs Tochter“ (Niels W. Gade).
