Mezzo-soprano Laura Kriese completed her vocal studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance (HfMT Köln).

She received her first vocal training as a member of the Children's Choir under the direction of Martin Rieker in Halle (Westphalia). By regularly participating in masterclasses with Daniel Johannsen, Prof. Mario Hoff, Alex Potter, Mateusz Kabala, Brigitte Fassbaender and Victor Rud, she continues to refine both her vocal technique and her skills in musical interpretation and textual clarity. Her excellent sight-reading ability has also made her a sought-after cover singer.

Through her artistic collaboration with the Belgian ensemble ICTUS, she has developed a particular interest in contemporary music, with a special focus on the works of composer Philip Glass. As a freelance ensemble member of Collegium Vocale Gent under Philippe Herreweghe and Chorwerk Ruhr under Florian Helgath, she has appeared on international concert tours to Budapest (MÜPA), Barcelona (Palau de la Música Catalana), Milan (Teatro alla Scala), Paris (Philharmonie de Paris) and Zurich (Tonhalle Zurich).

Since the 2026 Salzburg Festival, she has been a member of the Utopia Ensemble under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. In May 2025, she made her debut at the Aalto-Theater Essen as Annina in Richard Strauss's "Der Rosenkavalier". This was followed by further engagements at the Aalto-Theater Essen as Giovanna and Countess Ceprano in Verdi's "Rigoletto", Flora in "La traviata", and, during the 26/27 season, as Tisbe in "La Cenerentola", among other roles.

In the 26/27 season, as a member of the International Opera Studio of Cologne Opera, she appears as the Second Lady in "Die Zauberflöte", Jeannette in "Der König verschenkt was", Freude, Mitgefühl and Innerer Frieden in "Das Grand Hotel der Gefühle", Death in "Le Rossignol", and Kate Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly".
