Christopher Lowrey
Vita
Christopher Lowrey stammt aus den USA und studierte Gesang an der Brown University, der University of Cambridge und der Royal College of Music International Opera School. Er gewann zahlreiche Preise wie etwa die Helpmann Awards, den Sullivan Foundation Award und den Keasbey Award.
Als Countertenor tritt er regelmäßig an internationalen Opern- und Konzerthäusern wie dem Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, der Carnegie Hall in New York, der Philharmonie de Paris, der Oper Frankfurt und der Opéra National du Rhin sowie bei Festivals in Aix-en-Provence, Boston und Adelaide auf. Zu seinen jüngsten Opernpartien gehören Armindo in „Partenope“ (Teatro Real de Madrid), Bertarido in „Rodelinda“ (Händel-Festspiele Göttingen) sowie die Titelpartien von Vivaldis „Farnace“ (Pinchgut Opera Sydney) und Händels „Giulio Cesare“ (u. a. am Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris).
Er ist auch als Dirigent von Chormusik tätig und gründete das Ensemble Altera in den USA.
Christopher Lowrey debütiert in der Spielzeit 2025-26 in der Rolle des David in Händels „Saul“ an der Oper Köln.
