“Offenbach am Offenbachplatz” runs the bars and dining areas in the opera and theatre foyers, as well as the “Kantine” diagonally opposite. Drawing inspiration from the opera and theatre productions, it adds a culinary dimension to your visit – relaxed, high-quality and welcoming.
At its heart on the square is “Offenbach im Kleinen Haus”, a coffee, food & wine bar open to everyone from Monday to Sunday. Whether or not you are attending the opera, the door is open to all: simply drop in, take a seat and discover the space for yourself – with no reservations required or taken. Before or after a performance, it is the perfect place to enjoy the square and its atmosphere.
Opera guests can also reserve a table in the opera foyer, both before the performance (from 90 minutes before it begins) and during the interval, to enjoy food and drinks – from selected wines, Champagne, Crémant and sparkling wine to the opera platter and small delicacies served in glasses. To help your evening run smoothly, we recommend booking these tables here in advance.
Our catering is committed to regional produce, traceable sourcing and preparation that is as sustainable as possible, through close partnerships with businesses in the Cologne area, short supply chains, seasonal ingredients and skilled craftsmanship. As a certified organic business and supporting member of Slow Food, it offers thoughtful dining, with a changing selection of small dishes, cakes, speciality coffees and carefully selected wines.
