From Grade 8 Onwards
At a time when democratic values are coming under increasing pressure, Cologne Opera will become a vibrant laboratory for political participation for one week. We invite school classes not only to discuss democracy, but to put it into practice. Let’s “Power Up”! A varied programme of performances, panel discussions, readings, participatory art projects, community music, simulation games and practical democracy workshops awaits participants around Offenbachplatz.
School classes can take part either in a full project week or in individual events.

COSTS
Participation in the workshops is free of charge. Only the Thursday performance of DER KÖNIG VERSCHENKT WAS requires a ticket. Tickets cost €6.50 and also serve as VRS public transport tickets on the day of the performance. Public transport is not included on the other days.

Please complete the registration form and email it to theaterpaedagogik@buehnen.koeln between 1 and 30 September 2026. Places will be allocated by lottery.
CAN I TAKE PART WITHOUT MY SCHOOL?
Yes! Students in Year 8 and above can also take part in POWER UP! independently of their school. In the SONGWRITING WORKSHOP: MAKE SOME NOISE ABOUT WHAT MOVES YOU!, you can express what matters to you – no previous musical experience is required.
