Maria Koroleva

Vita

Soprano Maria Koroleva received her vocal training at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She completed both her bachelor's degree in music at the University of the Humanities (MosGU) and her master's degree at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London "with distinction". She was supported in this by the Sussex Scholar Award. As a recipient of the Excellence Scholarship and the Holland Scholarship, Maria Koroleva continued her vocal training at the Dutch National Opera Academy (DNOA).

Maria Koroleva made her debut as Musetta ("La Bohème") with Nederlandse Reisopera in spring 2022. Her repertoire includes roles such as Pamina (“Die Zauberflöte", DNOA); Eurydice ("Orphée et Eurydice" by Gluck-Berlioz, Festival Lyrique en Mer), Cornelia ("Cesare e Cleopatra" by Graun, DNOA); Lady with a Hand Mirror ("Postcard from Morocco" by Argento, DNOA); Ida ("Die Fledermaus"), Maguelonne ("Cendrillon" by Viardot, DNOA) and First Trio Member ("Trouble in Tahiti" by Bernstein, RCM). She also sang the opera scenes in the roles of Susanna ("Le Nozze di Figaro", RCM), Gretel (“Hänsel und Gretel", RCM) and the title role in The Snow Maiden (by Rimsky-Korsakov, MosGU).

In addition, Maria Koroleva enjoys singing chamber music and oratorios. She received various engagements with IVC and with Heusden-Vesting Klassiek in the Netherlands.

For the season 2022.23 she is a member of the International Opera Studio at Oper Köln and will perform as First Maid (“Der Zwerg"), Young Miranda ("Miranda" by Purcell), Angelika ("The Song of Magic Island" by Lange) and Laura ("Luisa Miller").
