Claudia Rohrbach

Vita

Claudia Rohrbach studied at the Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium in Munich and received a scholarship from the Deutscher Bühnenverein. After her engagement at the Lucerne Theatre, the soprano moved to the ensemble of Oper Köln, where she has since celebrated numerous great successes.

She has appeared as a guest at Staatstheater Hannover, Staatstheater Wiesbaden and the Bregenz Festival, among others. She has worked with conductors Markus Stenz, Claus Peter Flor, Friedrich Haider and directors Christof Loy, Günter Krämer, Helmuth Lohner, Benjamin Schad, Ingo Kerkhof, Carlus Padrissa and Dietrich W. Hilsdorf, among others. She has appeared several times at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (Gretel in "Hänsel und Gretel", Ännchen in "Der Freischütz").

At Oper Köln, Ms Rohrbach, who has been awarded the Offenbach Prize, appeared in recent seasons as a Flower Girl in "Parsifal", Zerlina in "Don Giovanni", in the title role of George Frideric Handel's "Alcina", as Governess in Benjamin Britten's "The Turn of the Screw" and as Agathe in "Der Freischütz”, among other roles.

She appeared as Konstanze, Susanna, Despina and Pamina and First Lady in the Mozart operas "Die Entführung aus dem Serail", "Le nozze di Figaro", "Così fan tutte" and "Die Zauberflöte".

Contemporary repertoire is also reflected in her roles, as evidenced by the part of Sophie Scholl in Udo Zimmermann's "Weiße Rose", and her participation in the German premiere of Johannes Maria Staud's "Die Antilope".

In the last seasons Claudia Rohrbach could be heard as Uroma Gisse in "Mazeltov, Rachel'e" by Christian von Götz, and as 1st Lady in "Die Zauberflöte", Micaëla in "Carmen", Berta in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" and Frau Pogge in "Pünktchen und Anton".

In the season 2022.23 she will perform the role of Ghita in “Der Zwerg", as well as the role of 1st Lady in “Die Zauberflöte"
