Kathrin Zukowski

Vita

After completing her studies in classical guitar, Kathrin Zukowski studied vocal pedagogy as well as opera / concert studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, and subsequently completed a master's degree in music theatre / opera singing at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich with Lars Woldt. During her studies she sang at the reopening of the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth in a leading role of Hasse's "Artaserse", together with the Münchner Hofkapelle conducted by Michael Hofstetter.

In August 2018 she made her role debut with the Kammeroper München as Fiordiligi in Mozart's "Così fan tutte". Kathrin Zukowski is a scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Verband Bielefeld, a two-time scholarship holder of the Hasse Society and winner of the special prize "Best Singer" at the opera competition "Giangiacomo Guelfi" in Bolzano.

From 2018 she was a member of the International Opera Studio of Oper Köln for two seasons, after which she became a member of the ensemble. Here she has appeared as a Niece in Britten's "Peter Grimes", Antonia in "Hoffmanns Erzählungen für Kinder", Marzelline in "Fidelio", Contessa in Salieri's "La scuola de' gelosi", Périzade in Offenbach's "Barkouf", Princess in "Der Teufel mit den drei goldenen Haaren" and as Musetta in "La Bohème". In the 2020.21 season she made her role debut – also at Oper Köln – with great success as Pamina in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" as well as her role debut as Susanna in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro" – this production was streamed as "Figaros Hochzeit ohne Gäste" owing to the Covid pandemic.

In the 2021.22 season she performed in "Schnittstellen [II]", a production of Oper Köln and a cooperation project between Oper Köln and InterArtes e.V., in the world premiere of "Pepita Lunarium" by Matej Bonin. Kathrin Zukowski's other roles in the 2021.22 season include role debuts as Gretel in “Hänsel und Gretel" and Konstanze in "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" as well as Micaëla in "Carmen".

In the 2022.23 season Kathrin Zukowski performed the roles of Konstanze in "Die Entführung aus dem Serail", Donna Clara in "Der Zwerg", Musetta in "La Bohème", Cleopatra in "Giulio Cesare in Egitto", as well as Pamina in "Die Zauberflöte".
