Armando Elizondo

Vita

Armando Elizondo, born in Monterrey, Mexico, received his musical education in piano and conducting at the conservatories of Monterrey and Düsseldorf. He was a member of the Opera Studio Niederrhein, where he was active a singer and pianist, and of the Opera Studio de México, in whose productions he appeared in the title role of Gounod's "Faust" and as Don Ottavio ("Don Giovanni"). He also appeared as Pâris ("Romeo et Juliette") and Gherardo ("Gianni Schicchi"). At the International Music Festival Sankt Goar and at the Academy, he also received advanced musical tuition from Francisco Araiza, Edda Moser, Carlos Montané and Emilio Pons, among others. In the 2021.22 season he was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera. There he sang, among other roles, Policeman and Student ("The Nose"), Hélénus ("Les Troyens"), Malcolm ("Macbeth"), Remendado ("Carmen") and Filippo in the new production of "L'Iifedeltà delusa". He has been a member of the International Opera Studio at Oper Köln since the 2022.23 season.
