Die Sopranistin Elena Plaza begann ihren musikalischen Weg in Barcelona, wo sie an der ESMUC ihre ersten Schritte in der Welt des klassischen Gesangs unternahm. Derzeit absolviert sie ihr Konzertexamen bei Prof. Brigitte Lindner an der HfMT Köln und schließt ihr Masterstudium im Bereich Musiktheater ab. Während des Studiums wurde Elena großzügig von der Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation und der Yehudi Menuhin Life Music Now Deutschland Foundation unterstützt und trat als vielseitige Sängerin auf Bühnen und Festivals in ganz Europa auf. Dazu gehören das Bensançon Early Music Fest, das LIFE Vitoria Lied Festival, L'Auditori, die Warsaw Opera, die Alte Oper Frankfurt, das Sommerblut Kulturfestival und das AvantGarten Liedberg. Zudem kommen Auftritte im WDR, beim Deutschlandfunk und in der Oper Köln hinzu, wo sie zwei Spielzeiten lang Mitglied des Opernchors Akademie war. Im Jahr 2023 erhielt Elena Plaza den Roderburg-Opernpreis für ihre herausragende Darstellung der Rolle der Lisetta in Henzes Oper "Il Re Teodoro", die gleichzeitig ihr Abschlussprojekt im Rahmen des Masterstudiums darstellte. Darüber hinaus hat sie auch in anderen Opern verschiedene Rollen verkörpert, darunter Angelica in Händels "Orlando", Barbarina in Mozarts "Le Nozze di Figaro" und Scapine in Max Bruchs "Scherz, List und Rache".In der aktuellen Spielzeit wird sie ihr Solodebüt in Attila Kadri Şendils "Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten" in der Oper Köln geben.
