The hotel director is delighted by every feeling that checks in. Because the more different emotions we have as guests, the more exciting it is at the Grand Hotel. But some feelings can be challenging: Anger takes up a lot of space and always needs the largest room. Sadness floods the entire bathroom with her tears. Fortunately, love also comes to visit, bringing joy and laughter with it.

With music from all eras, the emotions come to life on the opera stage, because opera itself is a kind of Grand Hotel where all feelings are given the space they need.

With an inclusive children’s choir and soloists from the International Opera Studio and the Children’s Opera, Lidia Branković’s picture book is transformed into a diverse and poetic stage narrative with music.

Lidia Branković, born and raised in Berlin, graduated in visual communication from the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in 2022 and works as an author and illustrator. Her first picture book, THE GRAND HOTEL OF FEELINGS, became an international success and has been translated into more than 20 languages.
