Jens Kilian
Vita
Nach seinem Studium an der Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee arbeitete Jens Kilian zunächst als Szenenbildner bei der DEFA Babelsberg. Seit 1987 ist er international als freischaffender Bühnen- und Kostümbildner für Oper, Schauspiel und Tanzproduktionen tätig. Eine kontinuierliche Zusammenarbeit verbindet den gebürtigen Dresdner u. a. mit Christof Nel (»Die Frau ohne Schatten«, »Parsifal« und »Kullervo« an der Oper Frankfurt sowie »Salome« an der Korea National Opera), Joachim Schlömer (»The Indian Queen« in Basel, »Parsifal« in Essen, »Das Rheingold« in Stuttgart), Christian Schuller (»Der Freischütz«, »Nabucco«, »Pique Dame« an der Oper Halle), Vera Nemirova (»Die Sache Makropulos« am Theater Freiburg, »L’Africaine« an der Deutschen Oper Berlin, »Lohengrin« am Theater Basel und »Wilhelm Tell« an der Korea National Opera) sowie Gil Mehmert, Martin Kušej, Jossi Wieler, Dimiter Gotscheff, Johan Simons, Karin Beier und Dieter Wedel. Zuletzt entwarf er die Bühnenbilder für »West Side Story« am Theater Dortmund, »Catch me if you can« am Staatstheater Nürnberg, »Eine Nacht in Venedig« am Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, »Don Pasquale« an der Oper Stuttgart und »L’incoronazione di Poppea« an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin. Mehrere Produktionen, an denen Jens Kilian beteiligt war, wurden zum Berliner Theatertreffen eingeladen. »Das Wunder von Bern« in der Regie von Gil Mehmert erhielt 2015 von der Deutschen Musical Akademie 2015 den Preis für das beste Bühnenbild. In der Spielzeit 2021.22 werden seine Kostüme in der Uraufführung von »Die Geschichte vom Fuchs, der den Verstand verlor« zu sehen sein.
