Vita
Andreas Grüter, ein in der Schweiz geborener Lichtdesigner, begann seine Theaterkarriere am Luzerner Theater, wo er von 1991 bis 1998 als Beleuchter arbeitete. In dieser Zeit absolvierte er die Prüfung zum Meister für Veranstaltungstechnik in Berlin. Anschließend studierte er Lichtgestaltung an der bayerischen Theaterakademie August Everding in München.
Im Anschluss an das Studium arbeitete er zunächst als freiberuflicher Lichtdesigner für Tanz, Schauspiel, Musicals und Oper und entwickelte er das Licht für viele Produktionen unter anderem am Prinzregententheater München, Staatstheater Oldenburg, Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, Opera Marseille, Welsh National Opera, Volksoper Wien, Theater an der Wien, Nationale Reisopera Holland, Scottish Oper, Admiralspalast Berlin, Teatro Pérez Galós Gran Canaria, Ungarische Staatsoper, Staatstheater Mannheim, Oper Bonn.
Zwischen 2006 und 2010 arbeitete er beständig für PVC Tanz Freiburg/Heidelberg mit den Choreographen Joachim Schlömer, Eun-Me Ahn, Graham Smith, Olivia Maridjan-Koop sowie den Regisseuren Tom Schneider und Sebastian Nübling.
Die Bayreuther Festspiele verpflichteten ihn für „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ unter der Regie von Katharina Wagner. Die Wiener Staatsoper engagierte ihn für „Moses & Aron“ und „Elektra“. Für die Ruhrtriennale beleuchtete er die Produktionen „Le Vin Herbé“, „Moses & Aron“, „Leila & Madschnun“ sowie „Tristan & Isolde“.
Ab 2018 ergab sich eine regelmäßige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Regisseur Andreas Kriegenburg bei den Produktionen „Die Hugenotten“ an der Opera Bastille, „Simon Boccanegra“ bei den Salzburger Festspiele, „Plateé“ an der Oper Göteborg, „Freischütz“ an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper und 2025 für „Oedipe“ bei den Bregenzer Festspielen.
Seit 2010 ist Andreas Grüter Leiter der Beleuchtungsabteilung der Oper Köln, wo er für zahlreiche Produktionen das Licht gestaltete. In Köln arbeitete er mit dem Regisseur*innen Tatjana Grübaca, Dietrich Hilfsdorf, Carlus Padrissa, Ted Hoffman, Lydia Steier, Jan Philipp Gloger, Roland Schwaab, Bernd Mottel, Johannes Erath, Michael Hampe, Uwe Eric Laufernberg und vielen mehr zusammen.
