Our music theatre labs invite you to actively explore theatre and make music together. Inspired by two productions from the season’s programme, you can gain your own stage experience, experiment and explore creatively under professional guidance – without the pressure of putting on a production.
The programme is open to everyone in the city.
THE TALES OF HOFFMANN by Jacques Offenbach

Performance of THE TALES OF HOFFMANN: 10 December 2026, 7.30 p.m.
Optional performance of HUNDERT: 12 November 2026, 8 p.m.
Description: Taking THE TALES OF HOFFMANN (Oper Köln) and HUNDERT (Schauspiel Köln) as our starting points, this five-part workshop series explores the shared themes of life experience, turning points and ageing. We will create fictional and real-life biographies and weave our voices together into a collective body of sound.
Venue: Oper.Stadt.Schule theatre space
Cost: Sliding scale: €40–80, including all lab sessions and the performance of THE TALES OF HOFFMANN. Attendance at HUNDERT is optional and can be booked in consultation with the workshop leaders.
